SEO for service businesses: we build the base, a specialist does the ongoing work.
Search work has two halves. The first is a site that search engines can read and understand, and that is ours to build. The second is the month-by-month work of research, content and links, and that is a specialist's job, not ours. We work alongside whoever does it for you.
What we build into the site
Fast pages
Small images and lean code, so a page opens quickly on a phone and nobody gives up waiting for it.
One topic per page
A page for each service and each area you cover, so a search for that service has an obvious page to land on.
The technical basics
Clear titles and descriptions, a sitemap, tidy addresses, and the markup that tells a search engine what the business is and where it works.
Who does what
- Step 1
We build the foundation
The site structure, the speed and the technical setup described above, done as part of the website job.
- Step 2
You bring in a specialist
The ongoing work belongs with someone who does SEO full time. Who that is, and whether to go ahead, is your call.
- Step 3
They run the ongoing work
Keyword research, content plans, links and monthly reporting. We make the site changes their work calls for.
What we will not tell you
- That you will rank first, or on page one, for anything. Nobody controls that, and anyone who promises it is guessing.
- That a new site lifts your position in search by its own doing. It removes what was holding you back, and the rest is ongoing work.
- That results arrive by a set date. Search moves slowly, and how slowly depends on your industry and your competitors.
- That the specialist work is ours. It is done by an SEO specialist you choose, and we say so before you sign anything.
Search is only worth it if the enquiry is caught
Being found is the start, not the finish. Because we build AI, automation, custom software and websites as one system, a visitor who arrives from search and gets in touch is recorded in your CRM with the page they came in on, and followed up the same way as any other lead. That also means your SEO specialist can see which pages bring in real enquiries, not only visits.
Questions
What does SEO for service businesses involve?
Two things. A site built so search engines can read it: fast, one topic per page, clear titles and sound technical basics. Then ongoing work: finding what people search for, writing content for it, earning links and reporting each month. We do the first. The second is a specialist's work.
Do you promise rankings?
No. We do not promise rankings, traffic or leads, and neither should anyone else. Search engines decide where a page appears and they change how they decide. What we can promise is the work: a site built properly, with the foundations a specialist needs to do theirs.
Why don't you do the ongoing SEO yourselves?
Because ongoing SEO is a full-time trade. Our work is building systems. We would sooner you had someone who does nothing else, and we stay involved so the site keeps up with what they need.
How much does SEO cost?
The part we build is priced inside the website scope, and it varies with the size of the site. The ongoing work is quoted by the SEO specialist once they have looked at your industry and competitors. Neither figure is published here, and you agree to each in writing before it starts.
How long does SEO take?
The foundation is finished when the site is. The ongoing work has no end date, and no honest person can tell you when a page will move. A good specialist sets out what they will do each month so you can judge the work even while results are still coming.
Can you work with the SEO person we already have?
Yes. If you have someone you trust, we build the site to their brief and make the changes they ask for. That is how we expect to work.
